The Dragon is an attractive and powerful piece of much symbolism.<\/p>\n

This beautiful piece is carved in Copal wood that occurs in the Oaxaca region, and is completely made by hand.<\/p>\n

At Legacy Mexican Art, we collaborate with artisans who have an ecological conscience, so every time they cut down a tree, they plant more trees to maintain a balance with the environment.<\/p>\n

The dragon was made in San Mart\u00edn Tilcajete Oaxaca and is signed by the artist.<\/p>\n

Oaxaca Legacy<\/em><\/p>\n

In Oaxaca, there has always been a tradition of carving surreal animal figures in wood, in fact they are known as tonas or nahuales.<\/p>\n

The Tonas in the Zapotec culture are spirits that serve as spiritual guides in the life of each person according to their date of birth.<\/p>\n
