Legacy of the Alebrijes<\/em><\/p>\n

It all goes back to when Pedro Linares fell ill unconscious and in his hallucinations he dreamed of all these surreal animals called Alebrijes.<\/p>\n

In 1975, a documentary about Pedro Linares by Judith Bronowski made the Alebrijes known internationally.<\/p>\n

Currently his son David and his grandson Gerardo proudly carry on the family legacy.<\/p>\n

Respecting the legacy of the Linares family with the creation and name of the ALEBRIJES, from now on in Legacy Mexican Art we will refer to the pieces from the city of Oaxaca as wood carvings, Tonas or Nahuales.<\/p>\n
