The Xoloitzcuintle alebrije represents the belief in pre-Hispanic times that these beautiful dogs were guardians of the spirits and guided the souls of the dead through the difficult path of Mictl\u00e1n, the city of the dead.<\/p>\n

The most important function that the Xoloitzcuintles were believed to fulfill was to help souls pass through a deep and mighty river that crosses the land of the dead.<\/p>\n

With the inspiration of the underworld is how this alebrije represented by the Mexican dog Xoloitzcuintle has been made by hand<\/p>\n

Enjoy its beautiful colors, hand-painted with the delicacy and skill of the artisan Gerardo Linares, grandson of Pedro Linares, the authentic creator of the alebrijes in Mexico.<\/p>\n
